The second Community Meeting for the Matlacha Bridge Replacement project was held on Thursday, January 25, 2007 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the German American Social Club, located at 2101 SW Pine Island Road, Cape Coral, FL 33991.

Lee County has selected the Southern Alignment as the recommended alternative and design of a replacement bridge is underway. Impacts of the proposed replacement bridge were shown on graphic display boards and members of the project team were available to answer questions and accept public input. Construction of rest-room facilities, a fish cleaning station and a vendor space were under consideration by County staff. This meeting provided an opportunity for the community to express views and concerns about these issues.
